Oftentimes, you will see a color that you like in a PowerPoint document, and you will want to use that color in a Visio document or a Word document. The instructions below show you how to do this.
Let’s say you have typed text in PowerPoint and you would like to use that color in another document. Here are the steps to figure out what color is being used in PowerPoint.
- Highlight your text.
- On the “Drawing Tools” section of the toolbar, click on the Format tab.
- Click on Text Fill > More Fill Colors.
- Click on the Custom tab. This will give you the red, green, and blue values of the color in question.

These red, green and blue values can be added to any other document to duplicate the desired color.
